From April 9 to 12, Sarma lands with its latest project Oral Site in the Zilveren Zaal of Beursschouwburg, within the program of Make Up: At Antonia Baehr and Werner Hisch’s Table. A new digital platform for creation and experimental publications, which started with a group of artists and their fascination for spoken word, Oral Site focuses on speech-based art works and experimental writing. More Than One Tie, the newest publication, will be launched in a four-day event that also includes lectures, (Christof Migone, François Noudelmann), performances (Ida Wilde), and informal Listening Room Sessions with radio makers, writers, composers and performance artists as guests.

Program composed by Tom Engels, Kristien Van den Brande and Myriam Van Imschoot.
Production: Sarma. Supported by: Beursschouwburg, Vlaamse Gemeenschapscommissie, Vlaamse Gemeenschap.

A day with Ida Wilde

Tuesday April 9, 11 am to 6pm

“A painting by one of the Highwaymen, a group of African American sunday painters, who were self-taught and eventually sold their work to make a living on the road”

Ida Wilde is the wife of Henry Wilde who is known to some as Antonia Baehr. Sarma invited Ida Wilde to compose “A Day With...”: a small group of people will spend the day with her, make landscape paintings along the canal, talk, eat, drink... An intimate and hands-on experience of how life and work intermingle and how this mix makes sense on a daily basis.

At the core of Zilver Flotations is the launch of the latest Oral Site publication More Than One Tie, an interview project by Tom Engels, in collaboration with Tessa Theisen. More Than One Tie zooms in on the open nexus of artists surrounding Antonia Baehr and Werner Hirsch: it looks through the key hole of affinities into different artistic practices that care about the way artists organize (social) relations, make them productive, reflect upon them, criticize them, whether it is being involved in the scene of Echtzeitmusik (Andrea Neumann and Sabine Ercklentz), or making holiday movies (Isabell Spengler), or family fictions (Ida Wilde) or gossip, perfumes and body aroma, alter egos...

-Launch Oral Site publication ‘More Than One Tie’ (Tom Engels & Tessa Theisen)
-A lecture/storytelling and partial exhibit of drawings and letters from the archive of Ida Wilde’s personal collection. More
-Lecture François Noudelmann: philosopher and radio maker who published a book on affinities.

Participants will need to be available on Wednesday 10 April from 15:00 to 18:00 (artist talk, meeting) and on Friday April 12 between 15:00 and 20:00 (preparation and performance).

Please join us Friday, April 12, 6 - 8 pm, for an evening with sound artist, curator and writer Christof Migone (Canada).
